Posted this here so most would see it. After 3.5 years of 406 ownership I've been stolen from the forum by company car disease (well VW Transporter Kombi). Just a quick note for all of the hints and tips over the years and the entertainment that this forum constantly provides, not always intentional...

Could be the bad solder on the posts issue that's been on here in the past. Mine is needing re-soldered and is reading erratically again. If I don't need much height I'll usually put the stands under the trailing arm pivot (front end of it), it sits neatly on the stand but doesn't give a huge amount of room under the car.
I always give the car a good shake before going under it too!
