Re: YAY !!!! I fixed my CD player.
It's actually the same crud that covers the windscreen. The laser just cant see through it since it defuses the LED given out. Lens cleaning fluid on a cotton bud wiped over the lens and polished with a dry bud afterwards is a long term fix

Re: Sunroof Drain Holes
Prob one at each corner of frame, I've cleaned them out on a 405 in the past with some CAT5 network cable, stiff but flexible

Re: HDI flat spot problem!
Yeah, I thought my cable was a bit on the loose side, tightened it up and it threw the throttle pot out of lower/higher parameters. Only a trip to the dealers sorted the problem.

Re: HDI flat spot problem!
Don't tighten the cable too tight else this will cause the ECU to throw an error and subsequence trip to dealer to plug and sort.

I thought it was a linkage problem and not a gearbox problem?

Re: Horrible gearchange
Thing is, you've now found the problem, so it'll be cheaper to fix it than to buy a new car, the car is also a known quantity (that may be a good or bad thing!).

I think the 407 has a dual shared system, so you may be correct.

Re: which oil for 90bhp hdi - where from
Just go to Hi-Q tyre service to get an oil change, it only cost £23 so not much of a saving by doing it yourself (around a total of £1) and you don't get all oily (unless you like being oily!).

Re: HOW MANY MILES HAS YOUR PUG COVERED?
Shell V-power doesn't seem to give any more power, but it does keep emissions clean along with the combustion chambers and associated parts. A clean engine will give more power. Shell V-power also seems to make the engine more noisy.

Re: NEED HELP REV COUNTER STILL NOT RIGHT
You just need to clean the hall sensor pick up with brake cleaner and re-fit. Done it loads of times in the past and as always worked great.

Which would suggest that there isn't an external leak, otherwise the pressure would drop quickly.

Yep, that could do it Welt
It's sometimes difficult to give an answer to some of these question, since it could be several different things which you can only sort by trying things yourself

Actually it's the water temp that pressurises the system (hot water expands) in a normal situation.
