Philips 4050 radio & CD changer
Hi guys on my '96 406 ive got the Philips 4050 radio and Philips RC026(?) CD changer, which doesnt seem to want to work. Well I would like some 17" challengers/vortex wheels off a 307/206 gti but yeah way out of budget haha and I wouldn't like the thought of having to replace the tyres on them

As the ever wise Jasper says, on cars this cheap it's best to leave it alone and enjoy your very cheap and splendid car for what it is, a comfortable cruising machine.

Re: Lowering springs
To be honest I'm debating whether its even worth it, it handles pretty well at the moment and its such a comfy ride, I'd only be doing it for the looks :| I don't know whether people in the UK do this or not, (I certainly haven't seen any) but have you thought about installing an 'air bag' sort of ...

Hi & welcome to the forum 8) Car looks very tidy. Never tried it myself, but I believe you can adjust the fuelling and boost just as much with the ecu controlled pump, (I suspect the electronics just control the timing). Bailles is your man..... Yeah, i thought that you would surely be able to some...

Re: Another new guy
Looks tidy enough for the money. Bet your insurance isn't pretty though - for some reason the 406 is ridiculously high to insure compared to similar vehicles. One bit of helpful advice though; I'd advise against the 306 Cyclones (unless it's because you already have them). They have centre-less hub...

Re: Another new guy
Hi & welcome. That's definitely a lot of car for £400. I believe that is a mechanical fuel pump you have there. Will you be running it on veg oil? A strut brace makes a massive difference to handling in corners. However, they need persuading in order to fit under the D8 bonnet, and I notice that th...
