Thanks for your help guys, I filled the locks with WD40 last night and tried the key this evening, and they work like new. Next job is to get the remote sorted. I have tried replacing the battery and there is still no response from the car, any suggestions will be appreciated!

Hi Everybody. The remote central locking on my 406 has never worked, but I have never had any problems with the key until now. I am in Barnes, SW13, I dont want anything for it, as I was just going to scrap it. You could collect it or arrange collection, or depending on how urgently you need it, I could bring it to a meet in the near future? I will not be at the RAF cosford meet, but im not sure after that. Phil.

Its definately an improvement to the old tailgate! The tyre has been going flat all week, I think a run up the motorway just finished it off! When I was on the way home my engine management light came on with the 'antipollution fault' so I opened the bonnet when I got home, and it went away, strange.

It moves but the ball joint has snapped off so it does not move the swirl flap on the side of the engine. I have now tracked one of these down from citroens as they use same part on the C5, should be here on Monday.
