Re: [WANTED] - Useable front coil spring 406 Hdi ?

Cheers guys.

I'll get new strut mounting sorted and new springs. - Having looked into the strut mounting issue, makes sense just to renew them all.

Thx

[WANTED] - Useable front coil spring 406 Hdi ?

Well the Rubble Shifter is currently at the bottom of the drive, with the N/S/F resting on the wheel due to broke spring. After a N/S/F coil spring and have seen prices from £13 up to £105(main dealer) for a new coil. Thought I'd throw a shout on here to see if anyones got a useable one sitting on t...

Would you Adam and Eve it ?

errm ok. Fitted new HP pump a few weeks back, also had a modified fuel lift fitted and flushed lines, new filters etc. - Been very frugal and good/better mpg since. Fill her up today and this is the 'projected' fuel range :) Ok so it may not make that but either way it makes you feel good. - Not bad...

Re: HDi High Pressure Fuel pump fitting

Well after fitting the HP pump I decided to get the guys to complete the loop by fitting a new lift pump, clearing out the system lines and fitting new fuel filter. Now she's back on the road driving as if nothing happened. Sorted. - Thx for all your advice guys. Sooper Dooper, here's to another 250...

Re: HDi High Pressure Fuel pump fitting

Lift pump has been checked, it's coming through but stopping at HP pump.

Was hoping something easy like the regulator. - Appears not

Oh well in any case the cambelt condition can be checked at the same time

The old girls done around 260k miles so guess the pumps a bit worn.

Re: HDi High Pressure Fuel pump fitting

Thx Peter, Interesting is, the car has had absolute no problems, in performance, fuel economy, etc. Simply one saturday took it out in the morning for a 40min journey, came home no problem. Went to start it 4 hours later and simply nothing, turning over fine just not catching :?: I'll pull of the re...

Re: HDi High Pressure Fuel pump fitting

Thx Peter, - I fear I'm entering the woeful world of HDi starting issues. Not a single problem at all, then just failed to start a month ago. - Mechanics who I trust, have tried multiple checks and test and have traced it to the HP pump. - Cars done over 250k so quite possibly. I'm aware it can be, ...

HDi High Pressure Fuel pump fitting

Sorry if been asked before.

2.0 110 HDi High pressure pump.

Is there a way to fit this without removal of cambelt or can the belt be 'slackened' to allow fitting this. - Or if you have done one, is there a knack as such.

Cheers

Re: Swirl/marks. (paintwork)

Machine polish only real way to go to get rid of swirl marks lozz.

Any other products out there just use fillers to hide them. - Even something like Autoglym SRP will fill the swirls

Re: Cars scrapped during the scrappage scheme

All these cars ended up in the airfields in Thurleigh. - Whilst on site with another company they showed me the airfields where these cars were lined up - devoid of registration plates, 10's of thousands of them just parked up. This was in 2010 - presume afterwards they were methodically square boxe...
