Re: Coupe owner

I like my gadgets.....check this out....auto close of the window(that's standard) folding mirror and the rear quarters.....(the last two aren't standard!! :cheesy: That is *sweet*! I had a bit of a fall out with the coupé forum after they threatened to force people, including myself, to pay for mem...

Re: Drove past this last week and oh look - it's on eBay

the dpf and cat section is made from stainless and is highly unlikely to be damaged, (one or two people have had issues with the front flexi pipe from turbo to cat, but that is very rare). after the dpf you have the mid section which is a straight through pipe followed by the back box.

Re: THIEVING B*****D SCUMBAG'S

It's true they are only subject to a smoke test but the new rules do say that if emission devices such as dpf were fitted as standard they need to be there. To meet euro stage 3 most cars would have had something in the exhaust, and euro stage 4 definitely would. The big flaw in this is half the tes...

Re: THIEVING B*****D SCUMBAG'S

sorry I wasn't referring to old diesels when I mentioned catalysts on our cars more for petrol, but I'm not 100% on what eurostage 6 will bring in, then eurostage 7. quote from vosa "However, whilst diesel engine vehicles are required to meet certain emissions limits for Type Approval, the method us...

Re: THIEVING B*****D SCUMBAG'S

There is a good chance they may not notice or care if it's there. I just naturally assumed everyone has a friendly MOT centre, the old place I have used for 10 year only cares if the car is safe, but he has moved away, I have now used a different mot place for the first time and they are also the sa...

Re: Overhauled the rear brakes.

Where did you get the refurb kit for the calipers, mine hadn't seized but I couldn't slide the piston back when fitting new disc's/pad's due to bad corrosion. After pricing up new parts I found it cheaper to buy refurbished calipers.

Re: THIEVING B*****D SCUMBAG'S

Supposedly the cables shod be fitted where bolt croppers can not reach, but this is dependant on the vehicle it is fitted too. There are some which are designed differently and are fitted with shear bolts, however any job on the vehicle requiring cat removal means the need drilling out. This crime i...

Re: Overhauled the rear brakes.

Seems to be a common problem with these cars, just done mine including cables, but must admit I'm a little jealous as I didn't have enough time to paint my shields :-[ nice job there.

Re: Need a new clutch

I've just fitted a smf and paddle clutch on my hdi coupé, with this combination you can feel more vibrations through the clutch pedal when changing gears, plus being a paddle clutch the point from where it begins to bit to being fully engaged is close. Gear changes aren't as smooth as oem kit but I ...

Re: Air doser / intercooler cleaning.

going by your 'bubbling comment' it sounds like you have a leak in the intercooler, so if you have the chance of getting another go for it. Also the air-dossers always seem to leak on higher mileage cars (if oil can get out air definitely can) so Nicowico pipes are a worth while investment if only t...

Re: Rolling Road Day in Essex, Sat 19th October

Good evening all, I know this is a bit cheeky but I have just popped over from 406coupe to see how this was doing, currently we have three V6's, two HDI's, a 306 gti-6 as well as a golf and mx-5 confirmed, and there is half a dozen ricers which haven't paid their deposit's yet. The total cost is £40...
