406 'X'(2000) HDi90 Rapier Estate in Red for sale!

Sad times! I've picked up a smaller car, because I can't justify the space this car has, or a 2 litre diesel engine - My work is one mile away and i've decided to sell the reliable bus! I've done so much to this car, and all the typical 406 niggles have been sorted. Many thanks to this forum for tha...

Re: Poly bushes

Get a genuine bush from the dealers and it will be as good as new. Make sure it's fitted the correct way. Forgot to say, for the record - I did end up getting a genuine bush, and had it fitted correctly! What a wondrous difference! Transformed the old rattle bus back into a fully functioning car. C...

Re: HDi90 Conversion to 110 Intercooler - More Questions!

110's have MAP sensors and electronic boost control, 90's don't. Does this matter? Guess it depends on whether you're thinking to fit a 110 ecu/map file or a custom remap. Have you considered this and do you have a plan? Don't think I have the savvy to fit an MAP sensor, or electronic boost control...

Re: HDi90 Conversion to 110 Intercooler - More Questions!

There are a few bottom pipes on eBay, a 406 and a Citroen C5 are the same as long as you find a Hdi110. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190996514192?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 You got a bloody bargain there, intercoolers alone are £30 or so.. 8) I don't think you need an air-dozer...

Re: HDi90 Conversion to 110 Intercooler - More Questions!

What butterfly valve? Do you mean the air dozer? They don't all have them so you don't need one. Anyway, sounds like they're more trouble than they're.. hold on, they're worthless anyway. I'm pretty sure the airbox, MAF etc. are the same. Right, was just referring to the post with "what you need" a...

Re: Chip Tuning Box - HDi 90

Wow, what a great load of replies! Firstly, thanks RWB, I had been reading this forum for months, and now know its the AUTHORITY on 406 related stuff ;) As for the MOT time, the garage that installed my beautifully loud exhaust system will probably pass it if I give them some more business come MOT ...

Chip Tuning Box - HDi 90

Hi guys! I know tuning-box chips are a well-covered topic, but I haven't seen any recent posts, and not too many on the HDi90. Mine is a bog-standard HDi90 'X' Reg 2000 plate Rapier edition. I recently got a straight pipe made up (more for jokes than anything), and was surprised at almost no fuel ef...

Re: 406 rapier, juddering at low speeds

Having just had my lower rear engine mount done (Above the driveshaft), I can say 80-90% of all my judders were down to this. At the same time, got my friendly local garage to change the gearbox oil at the same time, and jeez-oh, what a difference! Bush was £25 quid, 2 litres of 75W90 were £10 - fit...

What bush should i be looking for now, as its driving me nuts!

Cheers,

Re: Poly bushes

Could someone put the Link up for the lower polybush? My 406 rapier estate's engine jumps like buggery when I shut her off.. Was kinda hoping this would sort her out! And how easy is easy, as its something I've only done on suspension?

Thanks for all the help guys, really cleared things up for me :) Will be doing the change today, one more question though (not worth starting a new thread me reckons); How much eng...

Re: 406 HDI90 Fuel Filter Change

Mine does seem to be the first one, iirc, its the one used on Bosch fuel systems, and the latter is Siemens? Mine definately doesn't have a primer bulb, anyways. Will be doing it tomorrow as i'm not working saturday, along with engine oil and filter change, so i'll post when I get that lot done :) M...

406 HDI90 Fuel Filter Change

Hi all! Happy to be part of this forum, as i'm very well pleased with my first diesel. Its a 2000 plate 406HDi 90 Rapier, in Red (urrgh) with the BOSCH fueling system. I was looking at changing the fuel filter this Saturday, and have seen in previous posts that it is advisable to pour some injector ...
