Re: 1996 406 not starting
Lots of rubber pipes/wiring over the manifold, hope i don't mess up anything going to take it very slow removing this one,i can't make out from the little i've seen through the manifold pipes on how to loosen the starter. i guess the whole mounting it attaches to needs to be removed.

Re: 1996 406 not starting

Re: 1996 406 not starting
Ok so looks like the airbox is relatively easy to remove, just unclips sort of and i need to remove one pipe, i tried putting it in gear and rocking the car, the clicking noise returned after i rocked the car in gear so that i guess tells me it is the starter that is the problem, i wonder if it woul...

Re: 1996 406 not starting
Thanks Jasper, I am 85% sure it's the starter, just to be even more sure, if i hear a clicking noise and it is not the battery, will it most likely be the starter, sometimes the clicking noise stops altogether and i hear absolutely nothing when i try to start the car. wrt it's position i had a peek ...

Re: Can't activate manual Immobiliser ?
thanks but i don't want it to be disconnected i want to use it as an added security measure. at the moment it's on green and starts up every time without entering a code.
I simply want to activate it, ie change from automatic to manual mode, so i can actually use the keypad, Is this not possible ?
