Re: 63 MPG! Well impressed!
I found the computer to be spot on with ours, checked it over numerous fills, full to full, etc and always works out correct, It also runs out of fuel and stops when computer says 0 miles in tank.......... # Wife did complain that I should trust it, I wanted to see how far it would go when it said 0...

Re: Fuel filter conspiracy theorist
I have been in the engine trade for 42 years, from Motorcycles, Marine, trucks, cars, agricultural and industrial, and out of all of them modern cars and bikes very rarely have dirty fuel filters, Probably down to better fuels and dispensing equipment, not many old garages around with ancient fuel t...

Re: Lost in France
I am in North Dordogne, prob not too far away from your car. I have a lift pump you can have, I changed it earlier this year as occasionaly it didnt start but a quick clonk on the back seat and it would run. It might help with diagnosis. Also on Crank sensor, I had a clutch failure a while ago, the ...

Re: The 'who owns a 406' survey thing; for all members
Me and the wife have one each, 1999 and 2000 2,0 hdi manual estate, They are brilliant, mine has 258000 miles on the clock, just had a round trip to work of 250 miles averaging 57.7mpg, and I dont dawdle along, its getting a bit tired inside and bodywork but hope to be receiving a donor car soon to ...

Re: Gearbox Oil Change
I cant remember the wrench size, but dont just drain it and put the same amount back in, it might have been low to start with. A manual box has a level/filler plug on the side, easier to access with inner wheel arch removed but can be done without.

Re: 2.0 hdi Servo
It was a bit of a mission. If anyone has to do this, I have a few tips to get it done, Haynes suggests taking Cyl Head off, But not needed with a few decent tools and plenty of patience, feel free to message me. With hindsight, I should have taken photos etc for Knowledge base. Thanks for all the ad...

Re: 2.0 hdi Servo
Just finished sorting out the servo, Spent a while verifying it was a servo prob and not lack of vacuum, Used a Carb vac gauge to see what was happening. Removed Servo. 3 hours.... Checked against LHD one in French Breakers.. Operating rod in back is a lot longer on LHD, mIne is an ATE, Listed as Te...

Re: no fan power - locate fuse
Mine has a similar prob, I found its a bad connection on the wiring harness from the ignition switch to the fuse panel , In the connector block that plugs into ign switch. Bought one from fleabay but was slightly different, so I have wedged the wires in a way that it works at the moment, till I find...

2.0 hdi Servo
Hi all
Anyone know how easy to change a servo, 2.0 hdi year 2000, RHD.
Also do you know if the RHD and LHD servo are the same, I have chance of a servo from a LHD car
Thanks
Steve
