There's worse things than 406's (apparently)

Just spotted this whilst googling around....

Seems a bit out of date, anyone know how it ended :?:

Re: MOT ramblings and other matters

Also, in other news I just saw a 3.0 V6 D8 estate on Ebay... trying to resist the urge to buy it just to outdo the missus in the engine capacity stakes ^^ Do Pug do a 406 estate diesel any bigger than 2.0? Yep. D8 2.1TD, (like Steve's) or 2.2 HDi Like mine - what's the missus got? I never had any t...

Re: JVC KD BT11 Wiring

Hello again Dave, (sorry I 'lost the thread')! Car harness, ISO connector, Power side (Black): Pin 1 (black) - phone mute input Pins 2, 3, 4 - Vehicle Area Network, (Can bus comms), don't connect anything to these unless you're certain you know what's what. Pin 5 ? (not used on mine). Pin 6 (yellow,...

Re: Changing fuel filter on 2.0HDi

On some HDi's the LP pump will only run for about 10 seconds unless you crank the engine. I think Welly's suggesting you may need to do this a few times to fill an empty filter, no point cranking it until the bowl's full.

Re: do we have area reps for different parts of the country?

Right I don't mind doing another South Wales meet, and if there's any going on elsewhere I'll do my best to be there 8) For the last meet I arranged a route around some scenic roads in the Brecon Beacons so that we could drive it in convoy, with a sheduled lunch stop. Unfortunately we had to cut it...

Re: No Speedo, rev counter. indicators?

When you say the indicators don't work, does that mean none of the indictors, repeaters or warning lamps, when you operate the turn signals, hazards & lock / unlock car with the remote?
There's at least 3 separately fused supplies to the BSI associated with indicators / hazard lights, (F4, 6 & 27).

Re: Anti Pollution Fault - 2.2 HDi

Thanks for the input guys. One other thing I noticed, there's quite a lot of oil / water mixture in the air pipework twixt intercooler & manifold. Guessing this is coming through the breather. I'm not too concerned as the oil was generously overfilled by the stealer before I got it, (perhaps 1/2 lit...

Re: light on this moring

I honestly can't advise you what's best to investigate the anti pollution issue - the dealers are more expensive but possibly less likely to mis-interpret what it's telling you. When mine packed in, the diagnostic kit said 'EGR valve fault' or something to that effect. The real problem was the lack ...

Re: light on this moring

The anti pollution warning might not be the cause of it not running. The most popular HDi issue seems to be fuel pump related - lots of people have had LP pump failures and I had one where I lost the power to the pump due to a wiring problem. Now, I may be completely wrong, but do you now if your LP...

I'd be surprised if the majority of us didn't know some trick or shortcut the rest would find useful.

Can't hurt.

If somebody puts in all the effort to arrange a get together, of whatever kind, I'l do my best to be there.
