just a quick question: are handbrake shoes inside the discs all the same ? on the 406 :? seen some on ebay for £9 took a disc off the rear and a piece of friction material fell out , only leaving half of the fiction material I suppose they have not been renewed for over the time I have had it nearly...

As my 406 is may 2001 when i look for parts I need to know whether its a 109 or 107 psi engine 2.0 hdi 110
what is the easiest way to find out ?

its got a CAT only in the exhaust

checked voltage , its ok at 14.5+
carpets are dry as a bone
its happened again! so will keep an an eye on it
Question: Bsi reset , does it affect the ECU MAP? (forgive my ignorance on the subject)

Had a odd thing happen ! first time in over 9yrs ! :o :? switched the ignition on , and the oddometer read 77... miles and the top one read a different number for a very short time ? after say 10 seconds both sorted itself out jumping around , now back to the correct 180k and correct top number My Q...

apologies for diving in and not reading ur previous posts ! I have changed the egr/turbo solenoids over and when I give it some throttle the vac pressure reduces now much better, fingers crossed that was the problem !! I have given it a run and it seems ok , will be running it to work all week :) :f...

I connected the vac gauge on supply to solenoid and got 700 mm-Hg When I connected the vac gauge after solenoid I got 475 and when I gave...

vacuum pipe has arrived but ordered 6mm internal dia !!! which is the wrong !!! :frown: :frown:
had another look and it looks more like 4mm internal dia ???
can you steer in the right direction . :?

I think I have located the problem, the vac pipe feeding the turbo solenoid seems to be not sealing at the vac pump end ! did a temp fix till new vac pipe comes from ebay and the turbo loss only happened once all week going to work :frown: when I said my vac gauge was reading 60+, that equates to 50...

Thanks for the info: did some tests with my vac gauge before reading your post: vac pressure is 60+ took reading feeding turbo and constant 60 at tick-over and only reduces to about 40ish after reving it a bit and letting of the revs, is this how it is supposed to work ??? :? did notice bracket hold...

Just got the car through its Mot ! only needed a couple of brake pipes on the rear and a front anti-roll bar joint £100
will get the chance to check a few things this weekend

egr blanked
brakes are great
will start with vac pressure???
