had car in garage ,after checking round he blew out the air pressure sensor on the top of the intercooler, its cleared the engine management light. its most likely being caused by the intercooler being blowing for a while and blocked the sensor a bit? will run it to work this week and see how it goe...

Still using mine, daily .my second 406 , 1st one 6 yrs and this one 10 yrs ,it's a Y reg 110 with 180k. Still pulls really well. Going to upgrade shorty but still keep the 406 :)

the car is still loosing the turbo now and again :frown:
the maf has not been disconnected
I have booked the car in to get looked at on 10/7 ,
cannot get my crooked fingers in to replace the vac on the turbo so he can do that for me

got the car on diagnostic fault codes: 0107 intermittent fault :air flowmeter signal, airflow too low coherence 0000 intermittent fault, air flowmeter signal, open circuit or short to earth, flow too low. 3501 intermittent fault, turbo pressure signal short circuited to positive or open circuit or v...

had another go at locating turbo vac pipe, jacked the car up as far as I could , had a look at a few diagrams , can get one hand in to locate turbo end but don't feel I would have the hand strength to feed the new pipe back on ( must be my 64yrs age). :frown: :frown: will see how it goes with the ne...

yes got some vac pipe , but only replaced short bit nr pump.

had to jack the car up because I dropped the old solenoid down the back of the engine :!:
while it was jacked up I tried to see where the vac pipe was connect to the turbo to no avail :? will have to get a diagram to give details

Yep, cheers guys we live and learn or maybe not :frown: I'am at the stage with the 406 after 10yrs, ( been running a 406 now for 16yrs ) thinking I need to upgrade, its running well but when do you stop spending money on it ! Or get something else which is more expensive to repair with multiple sens...

Update :
we have not had any real bad weather to test them properly this last winter , they grip well, but feel quite soft /squidgy/soggy :frown:
wish I had bought some P1 instead

Cheers peter, yes had a look at youtube vids
got the job done, backplates a bit ripe , so painted them with rustoleum.
renewed all the seals in the calipers :cheesy: job done !

Update: found some rustoleum in back of the garage for the backplates, looks good :D done one side, but need to fix the old backplate pin problem a s bottom one too sloose ,might pop out and make a mess !! seen threads on here to use bolts. I could do this but just a thought, has anybody tried to to...

ordered some mintex ones , £18 fast free postage off ebay . same price as autodoc ones with postage

Quick question, can you paint the backplates with cheap house paint ? or do I need High Temp Paint ?
