Re: Fitting new bearings to a Washing Machine?

I done a Hotpoint one about 20 years ago and had to do it again about 5 years later. It's not that difficult but it all depends on the machine. I had another Hotpoint about 5 years ago and after stripping it to do the bearing I just binned it as the bearing was completely housed in plastic from memo...

Re: My New Car.

Exactly as you guys had predicted, the sunroof drains were blocked. I cleaned them out as shown in the topic so hopefully that’s the end of the water for now. Previously to the drying out the hazard warning light button was showing a very low flickering light when the car was locked but that’s all o...

Re: My New Car.

I know the boot where the spare wheel is dry, is the scuttle the area at the bottom of the front windscreen inside where wiper motors are. I will check the others. Could the water be coming from a leaking front windscreen as it was replaced a few years ago and on Thursday when I was driving in cold ...

Re: My New Car.

I have checked the footwell and there is more than damp there. There is water, not alot of it but the whitefoam backing is saturated. I have dried as much as i can and I will be getting the hair drier out later. Has anyone ever cut the carpet neatly under the floor mats for easy removal, re-fitting ...

Re: Oil Filters - Genuine Vs Aftermarket

I agree with you 100%, i would never skimp on the important parts like the oil filters and oil. It’s just the bloody factors seem to have nothing else and I thought they the filters were fine. What was gone wrong with the filter inside when you split it. I might try elsewhere tomorrow before I do th...

My New Car.

My new car, well new to me. It’s a 2001 406 Executive in mint condition inside and with two small marks outside. I bought the car from a very honest guy outside London before Christmas over the phone. Paid for car and got it collected and delivered to Ireland. I checked the mileage on the MOT checke...

Re: Oil Filters - Genuine Vs Aftermarket

Ithink the reason why people go for ' Oem filters is because of all the horror stories they see On the www. I'wouid just avoid Whitebox trash and them 'crossland branded things. I have been using those crossland things for years and i genuinely thought they were ok, well at least the packaging look...

€1.04 per litre for disel here in west of Ireland. Have seen some of the cheaper places at €1.02. Everyone hoping for under a euro.

Re: I've searched - need Lexia 3 recommendation

Hi All, I am looking at buying something to do some diagnostic work or do a little practice in case i need to do something. I will probably go for Jasper5's recommendation. Did it work out for you. Cars 99 and hopefully a 2001 all 110 models. I take it the one is the Lexia 3 Diagbox at £92.65.
