Re: Horrible rattle around my exhaust manifold.
Thanks for that advice. I'm taking the car to my local small garage next week so I'll ask him to take the front pipe/cat off and have a look for that metal thingy! Doesn't half make a bloody noise though. Sounds like Steptoe and Son are driving up the road

Horrible rattle around my exhaust manifold.
I have a bloody awful 'rattle' around the back of the engine (2.litre petrol EW). It sounds like its from this area but not totally certain as the sound travels so much. Could it be a broken up cat? The rattle sounds like you have a stone rattling around on a tin plate under there somewhere. On acce...

Re: Resetting from Limp Mode
Thanks for that. However, how do I reset the ECU? Is it simply disconnecting the battery for a few hours or something more exotic?

Resetting from Limp Mode
How do you reset the engine if it *may be* stuck in limp mode and hasn't been reset? Mine is a 2 litre petrol EW engine 1999 V reg.

Mass Air Flow Meter/Sensor
Sorry to sound a total idiot here but does my engine have a mass air flow meter or is this specific to diesel? Its a 2.0litre PETROL EW engine (V Reg 1999). I have sluggish acceleration. Now this may sound totally mental but I have a speedo problem too and everytime the speedo drops to zero as I'm t...

Re: lumpy idling and power loss 2.0 Petrol
Thanks for the advice. I will have a go at this over the weekend. Thing is, my 2.0 petrol engine is an EW engine not XU. Is the stepper motor roughly in the same place? I'll have a search! Cheers guys

lumpy idling and power loss 2.0 Petrol
My 2.0 petrol (1999) V reg. It idles around 600-650rpm and is lumpy. Acceleration is poor. If I am in 2nd or 3rd and floor the throttle it is sluggish but never misfires. Also, when I am driving along and take my foot off the throttle I feel a very slight jerky movement - very slight. I have had the...
