Re: Switch next to diagnostic port

Is that not the Cruise control activation switch for a non/semi mux?

Re: Getting around the immobiliser

Okay The final thing I can think of is your in boot CD changer. Yours is an executive model I'm guessing, so it'll have the amp and CD changer in the boot. If this connector is sat in water or damaged in any way then it affects the ECU. This is more common on 406 Coupés but just putting it out there

Re: Getting around the immobiliser

I don't mean to sound patronising, but did you definitely select 406 R on the PP2K menu ...? Correct DAM number? Remember your car will have a different DAM number to the donor ECU Does PP2K communicate with the BSI if you try the 'test by ECU' option? Just trying to eliminate the obvious before con...

Re: Injector correction values

Agreed, there is also a number printed on the injector ( 1,2,3 or 4 I think ) if the 2.0 is the same as the 2.2....

Re: Passed mot again!

Good news, it's always nice to get a pass - especially one with only one advisory :cheesy:

I think our cars have much the same mileage - I think the last time I looked I was on 176k.

Re: Injector correction values

I've see worse :cheesy: Those look higher than normal to me, nothing that either a good run or some injector cleaner won't address. Ideally the values should be between 1.5 and 2.5 for a good clean injector - over 4 isn't problematic but shows it could be addressed :cheesy: When I get my car back ( ...

Re: A/C fan speeds up from time to time

I've removed this sensor once before but I can't remember for the life of me how I did it.
I'll have a butchers tomorrow morning and refresh my memory then I'll let you know :cheesy:

Re: Throttle and Speeds Sensors

The throttle sensor is easy to remove - and there may be a guide on here about how to clean it out. The sensor itself has very basic workings inside and filling it with contact cleaner or similar seems to work wonders. As for the speed sensor, I can't help you - not sure if your car has it on the ge...

Good results :cheesy:

Maybe I should put my dodgy drivers door hinge and my electric window switch in the boot for a few weeks, and see if they magically fix themselves too.... 8)

Do you mean the glove box lid, the bit with the lock?

These are available in black or grey - I believe Peter still has his donor car in a field and isn't too far from you

Re: Seat airbag cables

Looks normal to me.... There is a chance you will get the airbag light on after you have changed the seats, but chances are if you haven't had the light on recently then you'll be fine Absolute worst case scenario would be to replace the connectors with bullet type, or similar, for a better connecti...

Re: Blower controller cables

Oh, I see. Are you concerned about the speed of the fan changing on its own? This is normal - its the temperature sensor inside the grill by the interior light telling the blower to increase or decrease the temperature inside the car to correspond with what you've set on the climate control panel ( ...

Re: Seat airbag cables

To cut a long story short, once you've opened the bonnet and disconnected the battery - wait at least 5 mins before opening a car door This is only because the cars BSI is very sensitive so if you open a car door too soon after disconnection, the BSI is still winding down so to speak and 'may' get c...
