It's all about work ; the money and our lives I mean. I fell into Construction Industry Contracting and kinda got stuck with it, I'm a Cost Estimator, Bid Manager, Buyer, Contracts Manager, HR Department, Sales & Purchase Ledger - I've ended up doing the lot for a small company. The industry pay isn...

Ah but at least then you'll be able to park it anywhere to suit YOU and you can pull out sharply in front of the Missus when she's taking the bins out :P

Funny* you should say that about Cat theft - someone else lost a 'precious' breed of Cat in our area recently; like the Cat was scooped up and gone. Is there really that sort of low life Oxygen thieves that would pinch someone's cat [/shakes head] Green Chilli's - my Sister reckons if you leave a Gr...

Brake servicing - copper slip rant

The Citroen had new rear discs and pads fitted at a garage 2 years ago (15,000 miles) recently I detected brake binding when the car was at a rest. I stripped them down yesturday and the pads at the rear were all jammed up in the calipers, no sign of any lubrication (or if there had been a bit of co...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

No sign of the cat now so we're now at the stage of getting used to him not being around :( I've got a chilli plant growing right now and I've also re-potted it twice into quite a sizable pot and a large plant with loads of green chilli's dangling from it  along with coriander these chilli's ...

Wow that sounds like a good car to rescue! you've looked after it well it seems. Did you know that the Peugeot fuel 'additive' isn't the sort of stuff you buy and add yourself (like injector cleaner/fuel booster etc) rather it is an 'eolys' fluid automatically dosed into the fuel tank and allows the...

Daughter_Welly has put a message on the community Farcebook page and had quite a few responses from people willing to check around etc. She also went around pinning laminated 'missing cat' notices around the community.......one snooty old %$&? said she was 'damaging' the tree with drawing pins :frow...

Re: ENGINE TAPPING THROUGH TO 3000 RPM

What about the bottom pulley for the aux belts?

These used to fail on HDi's and make a horrible ticking noise. Tell-tale signs are a brown coloured 'dust' or even bits of swarf around the area of the pulley. The noise develops when the vibration dampening mechanism fails inside the pulley.

Our Norwegian Forrester Cat has been missing since that very hot day last Weds :(

It's bizarre because it's just like someone has taken him away, keep expecting to see him and keep looking out for him but nothing

Re: A/C in winter

The a/c is disabled below a certain low ambient temp on all cars - on my volvo it's disabled below -7 deg C to prevent hydrostatic lock and blowing the safety valve. You should try a new tactic in winter.....do not use the a/c! In winter the air outside is dry and more than capable of defrosting a m...

1.6HDi DPF tested at 10 years old, 80k miles, how bad is it?

Following the massive labour savings on my DIY serving lately; I decided I wanted to find out the condition/levels of the Eolys Fluid and the DPF; having been advised that most PSA dizzlers will need at least a new Eolys 'pouch' at around 80k.... My friendly garage hooked up his Bosch Diagnostic and...

Re: 1.6HDi coming our way - Please Help!

You're really not warming to the Shitroen are you? this surprises me a lot for some reason. I have to say though with our C4 the ownership experience is not especially 'warm' particularly the daft gearbox and the steering wheel buttons that do many bizarre things, and that's before I mention program...
