Re: 1.6HDi coming our way - Please Help!

I forgot to mention removing the engine/bulkhead 'blanket' which is held in by about 7 plastic studs. The air filter behind the engine is a truly awful idea on the 1.6 HDi, oh and, like last time, I lost an Allen Key somewhere behind the engine  that's probably lying on the M1 now :? Thanks fo...

Re: 1.6HDi coming our way - Please Help!

Decided to tackle the infamous DV6 Fuel Filter replacement, bejesus what a faff! All of the flimsy snap-me intake piping out, part of the windscreen scuttle panel, the main Battery....and finally you're greeted by a black plastic 'box' with 2 x Bayonet-type connectors, a drain tube and a couple of s...

Re: old topic, 406 replacement ?

anybody had one of these ? the pug 508, looks , full of kit , complicated ! french electrics !! :frown: I would much rather have a 508 over any Ford! The 508 will be a proper Peugeot and not full of borrowed/cheapened Ford bits. It's a shame French cars still seem to have this "electrics" stigma, m...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

I eat tomatoes with something because I know they're good for you but yes the shite we get here in the UK is enough to put you off them. It's only really when you travel to Spain or similar that you get to flavour the real tomatoes  Best I can do here is attempt to buy the 'exclusive' range...

Re: Turbo on 2.0 HDI 406

The way I understood remaps on dizzlers was that a lot of the power increase comes from extra fuel injected and then a little more boostage.

Mearly upping the boost on its own won't work without the extra fuel to match it.

Excellent! 8) no I can't remember that little story, that's great though how your relationship developed in that way - I think they're the best ones and born out of friendship.

Dare you to make a 'doorstep' Cheese + Tom Sandwich  When you say there used to be 4 of you I can't remember this? I know you had your own gaff first and then moved in with t'wife and t'mother in law *shudders* a good few years later. I always thought your first move to Croatia was your 'fr...

The 'conker tree' is my rescue tree, lives in a half-barrel which used to look way over-sized for the tree but is now so big and heavy I'd need some equipment to lift it  I think all Horse Chezzers suffer from 'leaf minor' disease now, the leaves appear in May/June and look absolutely perfect ...

The conspicuous area is where them there bushes were growing (over the height of that brick wall and encroaching on the road by a couple of feet  ). The grass was sown by me and this is how it looks after 2 weeks of watering every night and a very quick mow yesterday - treated the Mountfield t...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

With the absence of much else to do I have recently been concentrating on tidying/simplifying the front and rear Gardens. I removed 5 x large bushes which were planted at the front 18 years ago and had become unruly brutes. I hadn't realised how much of a 'view' they had blocked for my neighbour rev...

Re: Sump 'crush' washers - a lesson learned

The I-G is non-setting so I expect it to move a bit with expansion but am confident it will stay sound - it was applied to recently sanded smooth aluminium and completely de-greased thanks to my new found hobby of dispensing Brake Cleaner  I was ecologically compliant by reusing the oil each ...
