Re: Door mat

Looking at your picture I would spread it liberally around the door card (were the leather has lifted) Then press it firmly down all the way round & re-fit the bezel. Unless you fancy taking the door card off to do it ? Then I would do it the same but support the card from under the handle aperture,...

Re: Door mat

That problem affects all of the car's (406's) now due to there age & heat. Facebook groups are the best place for door cards (what there known as in the uk) Any upholstery contact adhesive will work, the stronger the better. I did mine in my estate with some No Nonsense spray adhesive from Screwfix ...

Oil is blue smoke,
White smoke is unburnt diesel or water in the diesel.

Re: 406 lambs or ex gas temperature sensor.

White smoke isn't a good sign,

It's normally due to unburnt diesel & or water in the diesel (can be a leaking headgasket)

Google white smoke from the exhaust on a diesel.

You really need a session with pp2k & someone to look over it that knows what there looking at.

Re: Replacement Backplate

Actually Peter they are,
Not pop rivets but solid rivets, you can either grind off the heads or dirll them off

You can either tap them out (thread) & put bolts in, use new soild rivets or leave them off
as the plate is held by the four hub bolts.
