Ya, it is well worth the effort to try it out and it get working. Ya, the fault message about the clutch is misleading. It has now appeared again since clearing and doing the test drive but no fault from the ECU etc. Maybe the system will yet function without the clutch input set present on the BSI....

So the missing part for the puzzle was indeed the second brake switch. After the switch was fitted to the bracket and adjusted to be set as depressed, cruise control worked on the test drive!! :) :) :) :) So in summary, needed the brake switch, fitting clip and the stalk three settings on pp2000 -> ...

Maybe the clutch switch does not work (does not switch). You might want to unplug it and test it with a simple ohm meter. The clutch switch (or any pedal switch) is normally closed (contact). I managed to figure out the issue, it was selecting the wrong 406 version in the tool... Haven't yet tried installing diagbox though. just lexia with pp2000 23 something version.
