Re: Halfords Special Offers

Can't recommend the Halfords Advanced tools enough, I've got the 170 piece one.

The couple of times any bits have broken (snapped a T55 trying to remove a steering wheel) they replaced it with no receipt and no questions.

Re: My Old Mowtah

Lovely car :) It's a shame the HPi wasn't very successful, it was a really neat bit of engine design.

In fact its like is starting to become common again these days in downsized turbo'd gasolines.

You're not far from me - Dorking.

I don't have the brown connector, perhaps if you get one (or someone can donate one) you could bring it over and we'll stick it on Planet.

Re: New VED rates for 2017

Indeed, the new system is cheaper for people who buy "out-of-new-car-VED" cars in band F or higher, since you'll pay a flat £140pa instead of the sliding scale.

'Out-of-new-car-VED' is 1 year old or older for under £40k new price, 6 years or older for >£40k.

Re: New VED rates for 2017

That's only the first year rate, so £2310 in the first year, £450 for years 2, 3, 4, 5, then £140 pa after that. So this only really impacts those buying new or nearly new cars, someone buying a 255+g/km car that is 5 years old under the new system, will be paying less than half of what I pay on the...

Re: Driving according to the road conditions

I see, the problem is that I assume people indicating right are turning right, because that's what I was taught! The problem is that someone not indicating could be turning right or going straight, and someone indicating right could also be turning right or going straight! No wonder everyone's bewil...
