Reversings just down to practise, Take your time, Dont be afraid to get out as many times as you need to , Better to check than hit something,
We all had to practise and even after many years I still cock it up somedays

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Well done, not easy when its busy, Only practice makes it seem easier, I have been off since Monday afternoon for at least a month, since breaking my foot on the way home from delivering this to Redruth, Cornwall, last Saturday. Simply getting out the cab and slipping while checking trailer. Looks l...

Digi tacho card a must have, Pain in Ar5e having to send a cheque, renewals can be done by phone and credit/debit card.

You could try a few local companys for Saturday work or a ride out with a regular driver for a bit of experience

Re: and today i have mostly been...

It can be like that at times, It varies from company to company, I did a bit of agency when I first started and had a few crap jobs, so I told agency I wasnt happy and wanted more decent stuff or I would go elsewhere, That worked. Or as you say, a small firm that values their staff, you soon build u...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Thanks Steve. Much as I'd love to be out on the road, I'm kinda stuck with a non-driving job until I retire. :( Aren't unmarked EU bridges half a metre or so lower than ours? Must take a while to get the hang of 4m wide too, I'd have more than a few weeks with need for laxatives. Avoiding the peage...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

They are not as bad to transport as they look, Been doing them for about 8 years now, the width is the biggest problem, mainly about 4 metres wide, but sometimes more, Lots of forward planning with routes etc, Bridge heights...... I usually manage to get my height down to just under 4.5 metres, Love...

Re: ~Tis the Season for misaligned Headlamps tra la la la la

In the past few years over here in France, They usually adjust them for you during the CT, (MOT).
But there is still a lot driving with 1 or more bulbs out as the test is every 2 years and most people don't check on a regular basis

Re: Bargain Valeo clutch

My 406, 2000 90, Has the 11mm nuts, I use a semi deep 1/4 drive socket with a selection of extensions and universal joint, bit of a pain sometimes but do able with patience

My ratchet spanner wont fit the top one, there is not enough clearance.

Re: D9 Speedo / cluster change

I thought mine was Semi mux, its a 2000 D9 rapier with the longer stalk controls, the donor is a 2001 110 HDI with the shorter stalk controls, I have had the parts I need from it now and its going for sale on a local sell and seek site, engine and manual box seem ok, so It might bring me a few euro'...

Re: D9 Speedo / cluster change

Well Removed both units from dashboards, From the front they look identical, but My 2000 90 hdi has 2 plugs on the back and is a lot bigger depth to it, The 2001 I am using for spares has 1 plug and is quite slim. so dismantled the spare one and removed the printed display, very easy to do when the ...

Re: D9 Speedo / cluster change

Thanks for that, I will probably give it a try, I am not too bothered what mileage it shows, its already got 249000 miles on it, I just find it difficult to see the smaller KMH numbers in certain light, I have just aquired a 406 for parts and in the process of swapping a few parts to tidy mine up. W...

D9 Speedo / cluster change

Hi All

Is it possible to swap a cluster from a LHD car with a KMH speedo onto my RHD 406, Mine is a 2000 year and I think the donor is a 2001, they look the same cluster.

Also

Will I need to swap speed sensor
What will the milage/ Kilometreage show.

Thanx for any answers

Re: 2.0. Hdi no low down oomph.

I made my blanking plate from a sheet of aluminium, using a gasket for a template, never been a bit of trouble since.
