Re: DIY or cheap service?
My lads got a 206 which we maintain, other than the tricky jobs, front shocks for instance even garages hate them, and what we do is write down all the work we do in the maintanence book where the stamp should go and most importantly keep all parts receipts. Just a stamp doesn't tell you what work h...

Re: scatched at dealers
Hi Farmer Pug, if you read what cars owner reviews for the c4 GP it seems that the cars are either good or bad, and when they're bad they are very bad. Many with issues similar to me. Still 3 and a half weeks and its gone, not that I'm counting mind. My 406 despite being older and less technically a...

Trip computer doesn't work, then it does, then it doesn't........... Fuel gauge doesn't work if the low fuel light comes on until at least 20 litres is put in to tie in with trip computer, see above. All 4 tyres knackered in under 20K. Electric hand brake doesn't release, yes it does, no it doesn't....

Re: scatched at dealers
Can't prove it was them or that there was no damage before it went in. But I would sure as hell have seen it as I hoovered out the inside 2 days prior to the mot and it wasn't damaged then. However it goes back to them the first week in April so I'll leave it and they'll have to sort it in order to ...

scatched at dealers
My other car is a citroen c4 grand picasso, a lease car and I'll be glad to see the back of it. Worst car I've ever owned. Anyway, it is going back in a couple of weeks and it has to go back with an MOT from the supplying dealer. Car booked in at main Pugeot / Citroen dealer, turned up to service de...

Re: Exhaust noise
Phoned up this morning but the bore size of the repair section is too small to slip onto the OD of the existing pipe so I am going to have to replace the centre section complete.

Re: Exhaust noise
Just a quick question, are the clamps OK to use again or is it advised to use new ones? They're not the genuine clamps they are 2 piece with 2 nuts and bolts. They weren't tight when I took the back box off so I dont think they have deformed.

Exhaust noise
Sat in a car park outside Wembley the other day with the engine idling when the car rocked slightly. No one around, got out of car looked around it but found nothing out of place so drove back home to Cheltenham. On the journey home I thought the power delivery felt different. Next day still felt di...
Re: Noobie
Thank you, yeah the mileage is low but genuine. It belonged to an old boy, I have the MOT's and the mileages on them tally with the service book stamps. Only thing missing is one fastner off of the HDi engine cover.

Decided to buy a diesel 406 estate. Fed up with cars becoming computers on wheels and coming back to cars that you can fix and service yourself. So I have bought a 1999 D9 406 2.0 110 HDi, GTX, 48K from new 1 previous owner. Very well looked after with loads of main dealer stamps. Had a quick look o...
