Re: More french chod

I have been driving the 607 since the start of the month and have to say its a fine big car, no issues to complain about. While getting it ready for the mot i broke the handbrake gater to get to the adjuster and i went to the scrapyard looking another gater. I returned home with one plus a few other...

Re: Bought another 406

Some jacks bend the drain holes and water ingress in the sill cant escape, i am not sure how water gets in other than around the holes for the lower weatherstrip. £320 for new sills welded into place, and painted sounds quite reasonable. As preventative maintenance its worth checking the condition o...

Re: More french chod

As far as i can tell it has the bosch injection system.

Yup they are suprisingly cheap, the C5 was cheap because its a bit of a guzzler, but this 607 with the 2.2 hdi seems a grand workhorse that is far more comfortable than most modern alternatives.

Brake line sizes

What size are the brake line unions on PSA cars, particularly the 406? I have in my head they are M10 but just want to confirm it? http://uk.essentracomponents.com/en-GB/caps-plugs/plastic-threaded-caps/threaded-sealing-caps/threaded-sealing-caps-metric-threads/467034 I have to change an ABS pump an...

Re: Long time no see

The C5 is a 3.0 V6 Automatic, bought from another Autoshite member here in NI, our obsession with diesel makes big petrols cheap as chips, ive spent more on a set of tyres for the 406. No offense to the 960 it was a fantastic big bus, really did love the sound it made and you felt like the pilot of ...

Re: Long time no see

Great to hear there are still some on here with 406's, sorry for the delayed response just been busy with work. The Volvo was an impulsive buy, apparently id didn't need much for the next MOT, really though it was a lemon, used water and oil, produced grey, black and also white smokes at various tim...

Long time no see

Havent been about in a long time, finished off uni this year and just kept plodding along in the 406 which has drove great. It has a few issues like rear callipers which need to be rebuilt, a crunchy 4th gear, and a leaky intercooler. Nothing particularly hard or expensive to fix. How many still hav...

Re: Silver interior door handles... Easy to fit?

Thanks for the replies. So I presume the plastic rivets can be drilled out and replaced for normal metal ones? Its an easy job, i used a cone drill bit to drill out the old rivets (must have been aftermarket because any ive come across are metal) remove them and when use new rivets to replace them ...

Re: Been thinking about a C Class is something wrong with me

Any i have sat in feel like nicely screwed together machines, a bit spartain on the spec as with most german saloons, the C320 CDI was a very nice engine. One thing though try out the 220 cdi My dad had an infiniti Q50 out for about a month while his audi A4 was getting repaired after someone drove ...

Re: What do we think about 607s?

I had a go in a 2.0 HDi 110, felt a tad underpowered but could be remapped up to 140 might liven it up a bit. The V6 Automatic suited what the 607 is trying to be better than a diseasel and they are dirt cheap when they appear. Cabin space seemed good, felt bigger than the 406, build quality inside ...

Re: Pp2000 usb problem

Plugging the usb into the computer with the lead not attached to the PP2000 box invokes no reaction at all from the computer, surely that should be normal enough, the lead itself wouldnt have anything inside it for the computer to detect? Cant understand why all PP2000 boxes for sale on ebay/amazon ...

Re: Pp2000 usb problem

I plugged it into another laptop and got the same message, and think the problem is with the lead going from the USB port to the unit itself. After buying a USB to Serial lead, i now realise the PP2000 doesnt use a serial connector at all, instead of the 9 pins on a typical serial connector this use...
