Re: Replaced doors / Central locking problem
It's a bit tricky but I'm sure you could put the old wiring loom into the new door? In my opinion, this would be your only option. The 2 cars would have different bsi's (which controls the central locking). Yours would be an early version, the donor the later version. My experience with these cars ...

Re: Engine type
vin number will have rhy or rhz in it. If it has an inter cooler it is likely rhz. wrt coding... pp2000 does allow coding. I discovered this when I was trying to cure surging/idling in my 2003 hdi. The injectors do have coding info on the black plastic cap. Found this info on some bosch website. I u...

Yup, forgot about the unroasted unsalted mixed assortment of nuts and dried apricots/raisins (in my case). Have a daily ration after supper. Have also dramatically cut down on salt in all food.

Re: 2.2 HDi puzzler.
I would carefully examine the upper engine mounts especially the one above the gearbox as it looks like the engine has settled down on that side from the pics of the misalignment of the turbo piping. Also check the upper and lower anti tip mountings as these often fracture allowing the motor to tip ...

Re: I can haz a new Car and a free.......
My doctor brother in law owns/runs a rehab facility dealing with all sorts of physical and mental health problems. He told me to try to eliminate anything that contains flour or refined sugar. This I did. He also told me that eggs are "eggcellent", have 2 a day. I get my sugar needs from fruit. Just...

Re: I can haz a new Car and a free.......
Unfortunately I know EXACTLY what you experienced. I am also a rare survivor of a blocked LAD artery heart attack. 2 stents inserted and a lifetime of 7 various pills a day to look forward to. My brother in law (doctor) got all the details from the hospital/specialists after the happy event and said...

Re: Does anyone have SEDRE running in Windows 10?
I have it running in w10 but within Vmware 12. Works fine but vin lookup no longer works, you have to manually select your specific model.

Re: Non return valve on fuel line
What type of nrv are you using? Electric or mechanical? If it is mechanical, they are really not guaranteed to seal 100%, that is why electric solenoid type valves are used. Apart from the fact that a mechanical nrv does require a pressure to allow flow (so will restrict flow by its very nature) whi...

Re: Thermostats housing keep Cracking
where exactly is it cracking? Have all of them cracked in the same place? I have owned a lot of these hdi's and never had an issue with any of them cracking. Only had to replace the thermostat itself on several of them. Are you perhaps overtightening the holding down bolts? Or is the mating surface ...

Re: 2.0/2.2hdi interchangeability
When I first got the car, one of MANY issues was a lack of boost. I removed the turbo and found the variable vane system was jammed with carbon. While I had it out I did check it for leakage and found nothing significant. However, it is probably worth revisiting this again as it could have failed af...

Re: 2.0/2.2hdi interchangeability
hey Doggy, thanks for all the useful info! Motor is snacking on far too much oil and makes quite an impressive smokescreen under hard acceleration! I am worried it will soon decide to run on the oil rather than diesel and nuke itself... I have a complete scrap 406 2.0hdi wrecked car but auto...

2.0/2.2hdi interchangeability
Havnt been on for quite a while, had serious health problems and now trying to play catchup on all things that went pear shaped while I was recovering.. One problem is with my 2.2hdi, motor needs replacing/rebuild. It is coupled to a 5 speed manual tranny which has reverse on the lhs and 5th on rhs ...

Re: A possible Dogmobile #4?
My 2.2 had a separate tank and internal pump for DPF but had it removed as pump was siezed and cant be replaced as it is sealed inside the tank. New from agent NLA... Had the dpf written out of the ecu as PP2000 was still recording faults and engine check light was on and would go into limp mode, dp...
