Boot lid gasket?

On my HDi, I wondered why the boot lid would come crashing down, and realised that I need to replace the boot struts, but have also noticed that there appears to be a rubber strip of some sort missing from the underside of the lid lip.

Am I correct?

Well there was no noise today, sods law, so I guess I'll just have to keep my ears open.

Re: HDI Engine Cover Dampers & Clips

I concur with Steve and Jasper about the Renault bobbins, as that is what is on my car, and strangely enough, the originals that I have salvaged, will be used on the Wife's Xsara.

I'll check tomorrow, but it's definitely coming from the exterior of the car.

15" Jazz trims wanted

I'm after a full set of 15" Jazz trims for my 406.

As I'm a fussy person, they need to be in excellent condition.

So give me your best price with shipping to West Yorkshire, or I can collect.

Re: Squeal

Sorry for the late reply. Been away with work for a few days.

The noise is when the clutch is released.

Squeal

So just when I think that everything on my 406 HDi is done, lately when cold, there is a squeal from, what I think is the clutch release bearing, but when warm, nothing.

Am I likely to be correct?

Yay. Cambelt done.

At last. :cheesy: Eventually got the car in yesterday to have it done, after I purchased the parts some weeks ago. So now she's adorned with the belt, water pump, crank oil seal, idler, tensioner and bottom pulley. When I bought her she had 109k on her, and now she has 114k on and despite writing to...

Re: DIY Servicing Advice

Make friends with, and support your local motor factors for your parts. I use a good 10/40 oil in mine, and have done with all of my diesel cars over the years, and have had no problems. Avoid using the supermarket £2.99 crap. A full service on average takes me around an hour, with a cup of tea in b...

Shame it's injection. A nice set of carbs would fit lovely in the back of the engine bay.

Re: My 406 hdi 110 estate.

Now if you had said that when you went to Newcastle last weekend, I would have taken you up on your offer. They are quite rare now, and I know they are probably not for my year of car, it's just I like them. I need to find someone with service box who may know when they finished fitting them to 406'...
