No communication with engine ECU

I plugged PP2000 into someones 406 today as they are complaining about a lack of power (2.0 HDi 90), i know the 90s were never particularly potent but this one had no noticeable boost at all. PP2000 was unable to communicate with the engine ECU but seemed able to talk to all other modules.

Re: Odd idle speed behaviour

The cruise control works every time, on my old 110 it worked most of the time  Might need to get pp2000 plugged in, the clutch itself seems to sink after a few days of driving the travel becomes reduced, requiring it to be pulled back up with the foot although the actuation of the clutch seems ...

An Erling head gasket, another company worth trying.

Odd idle speed behaviour

My 406 (2.2 HDi) has a bit of an issue with its idle speed. Normally it sits at about 900-950 rpm but if i move the car and freewheel then brake the revs dip down to 600 rpm as if its about to stall. This would happen for example when reversing out of a parking space; the car is put into reverse, it...

Re: 2.2 HDi Estate

I paid £1550 for it, in the end, the seller didn't budge much but there is a year's MOT and it didn't look like too many things need done, it is in really nice condition. The fuel consumption between work and home, which is a 5-mile journey each way on back roads all under 40mph the trip computer is...

2.2 HDi Estate

I have returned to driving a 406, i went over to birmingham before christmas for this one with 112,000 on the clock and one owner from new. It came with 3 keys, the code card, a cigarette lighter that has never been used and the log book shows 1 previous owner. Hard to find this on a 406 now. https:...

Re: Do D8 V6 Head Gasket Kits exist?

Wasn't this engine used in a Volvo too?? Maybe someone here with the privelige* of owning a Volvo could ask on that forum...??? That was the older PRV 90 degree v6, the ES 60 degree V6 never seen service in Volvos. It was used in the later XMs, 605s and Xantias. BGA might have some in stock, i thin...

Dog Guards

Estate owners, were there any genuine Peugeot dog guards for the back of the estate? I have an excitable collie pup and don't want her clambering into the front of the car. Interested to see what is out there, there are plenty of universal ones but I've had those before in the 305 they tend to leave...

Re: Volvo V70

Looks very nice indeed, come on then what did you give for it :P Well um i paid £4750 for it, travel expenses to get it home about £250. Great driving car, feels like driving a tank and great seats. The problem is how i drive, 5 miles to work, 5 miles back home, 5 miles to the shed and 5 back home,...

Volvo V70

I got myself a Volvo, a 2004 V70 D5 with 47,000miles. https://image.ibb.co/iB2H2m/IMG_1699.jpg https://image.ibb.co/cvMc2m/IMG_1700.jpg https://image.ibb.co/nOMANm/IMG_1703.jpg Just drove it back home, it averaged a touch over 44 mpg, i was impressed with how solid these feel but yet still ride real...

Re: Autobox on a HDi

The automatic D5 seems thirstier on paper than the manual, the manaul, on the other hand, seems to be about the same as what the 607 does.

Re: Autobox on a HDi

I had a go in a HDi auto over here, it was a tad lethargic, and im driving a 607 at the moment... Modern autos seem fantastic, my dad has a Mercedes C220 with a 7 speed box which seems to always be in the right gear and its a struggle to get it to do under 50mpg. A bit of a different thought but see...
