XU10J2TE problem

Post by Col »

Hi Guy, I'm having a small problem with my car :(

from cold, if I start the engine on my SRI and press the throttle lightly it almost stalls...

and even when warm the car can feel a bit "snatchy" sometimes when accelerating from low speeds

one of the sensors ?

coil pack ?

Check out this post for starters; if you've already done this it could be the MAP sensor. The tubby also has a fuel filter sited just in front of the rear o/s wheel arch; may be time for renewal.

where is the MAP sensor located on the tubby Mr Teamster Sir ?

also, where is the coolant temp sensor located

my last car had an XU10J4RS and I knew the layout like the back of my hand... but this one is all different

Unfortunately it's inside the ECU

That's what I'd try replacing first. Not easy though. Drain the coolant via the drain plug at the bottom forner of the radiator and remove the air filter box and piping. Follow the top radiator hose to the engine and remove it (because you may as well change the thermostat while you're at it ). Now, have a look round the back of the thermostat housing and you'll see the two CTSs. One's for the ECU and the other's for the dashboard, and they're identifiable by the colour of the plug.

Getting it out and in again will be "interesting" due to the position and angle. You *MAY* have luck using a crows foot socket or stubby open-ended spanner and an 'ammer...
