Issue possibly

Post by 406Iain »

Hello guys,
I noticed on the way home from work just now when coasting upto a stop from 60mph that the display which normally goes up to 999.99 didnt.
It went upto about 900 then dropped straight down to 400 again twice.
Strange,it has no appreciable missfire and it isnt years since its last service.Anything that I could maybe check?
Ta.

Were you going slower than usual?

I don't know about the 1.8, but it's possible the engine hadn't warmed up properly (The bigger engines will literally dump fuel out the back on over-run when cold to get the cat up to temperature quickly)
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
