2.1 DT - Tolerance to alternative fuels.

Post by DrDoctors »

My current 1.9DT seems to be able to run on anything that has 'oil' in the name (100% Veg oil currently), I like this fact because its cheap and other things it runs on are free. Unfortaunately though it is knackered and I'm thinking of replacing it.

I have seen a 2.1 DT cheap near me with T&T, I quite fancy it as a tow vehicle but only if it runs on crap fuel as well. (or I'll find another 1.9).

Can anyone advise.

Man this is everywhere  Bosch pumps work fine on anything, Lucas pumps (which the 2.1 is) don't like anything other than diesel. Standard practice seems to be to replace the one on the 2.1 with a fully mechanical Bosch off an older 1.9.
