I just got one fitted for £125 at my local garage, Cat was £75, garage did their usual £20 mark up on the part plus £30 labour
I had no choice as I bought a cat of ebay for £30, seller was adament it was a 2 litre cat, but low a behold it was a 1.8 one, car was stuck on the ramps at the garage with no cat on so I had to ask them to supply one, I wasint happy

The cat that came has actually got '406 phase 1 1.8 16v' on it in tippex, so I don't know what he was playing at, I'm annoyed as I sent him a msg first and made sure, even tho his listing said it was a 2 litre one, I'd already left feedback as I took his word for it and I never opened the packaging, guess I too trustworthylozz wrote:Ffs,Roylewaa wrote:I just got one fitted for £125 at my local garage, Cat was £75, garage did their usual £20 mark up on the part plus £30 labour

Re: need new cat, quoted £160 at tyre place
just had a look and my cat goes all the way up to the turbo, how am i ment to reach it lol? is it harder on sris? or is it just simple
Re: need new cat, quoted £160 at tyre place
well now what do i do? got to eurocarparts and they say they dont sell cats for the sri turbo in the whole company, so i cant get a cat from them let alone for £75, camberly auto factors want £140 plus the old cat, so wished i never cancelled my £160 fitted job at the tyre place, is there anywhere i can get a new cat for under £100?
Re: need new cat, quoted £160 at tyre place
If memory serves you should be able to get underneath and squeeze your hands up to the connection, which I think is a couple of bolts to the turbo? I know the oxygen sensor sits above the cat and I managed to get to that without much trouble... and I'm not a small blokejason1987 wrote:just had a look and my cat goes all the way up to the turbo, how am i ment to reach it lol? is it harder on sris? or is it just simple

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
