I just got one fitted for £125 at my local garage, Cat was £75, garage did their usual £20 mark up on the part plus £30 labour

I had no choice as I bought a cat of ebay for £30, seller was adament it was a 2 litre cat, but low a behold it was a 1.8 one, car was stuck on the ramps at the garage with no cat on so I had to ask them to supply one, I wasint happy :frown:

i just wasnt sure £75 was right as £160 is a big difference and this tyre place is normally cheap, is the cat easy to change? just clamps?

easy enough to change if the bolts havent rusted,

The cat that came has actually got '406 phase 1 1.8 16v' on it in tippex, so I don't know what he was playing at, I'm annoyed as I sent him a msg first and made sure, even tho his listing said it was a 2 litre one, I'd already left feedback as I took his word for it and I never opened the packaging, guess I too trustworthy

Ive whacked it back on ebay for 99p start with no reserve just to get rid :frown:

well now what do i do? got to eurocarparts and they say they dont sell cats for the sri turbo in the whole company, so i cant get a cat from them let alone for £75, camberly auto factors want £140 plus the old cat, so wished i never cancelled my £160 fitted job at the tyre place, is there anywhere i can get a new cat for under £100?

If memory serves you should be able to get underneath and squeeze your hands up to the connection, which I think is a couple of bolts to the turbo? I know the oxygen sensor sits above the cat and I managed to get to that without much trouble... and I'm not a small bloke
