He was kind enough to attach his computer before he went and showed me 3 fault codes: u3f00, p00cc and p0190 fuel rail pressure sensor.
i tried googling the other 2 but could not find them. then i read on here that some people disconnect the pressure sensor as a quick fix. so got up this morning to pop it off so i could use the car for work. Then realised that a previous owner had cut the yellow connector lower down and reconnected one single wire circumventing the connector

the old car starts first time with easy start, but if give it welly it will cut out. the rac man said it was a symptom of the sensor not regulating pressure properly. but if people are driving around with the sensor disconnected it should start, shouldn't it?

the car is a 2000 2.0 hdi 90 with bosh fuel system
Any ideas gratefully recieved
