no. if you disconnect the sensor they run constant.

Yes, when you disconnect sensor fans start immediately. Even car key is in your pocket. :wink:
Nobody can tell me where the problem is.. I have changed relays and sensor.. No effect.
When i am in a traffic jam, temperature little by little raises up and i have to turn AC on :x

Sometimes, when the air is taken from the inside the car, not from the outside, fans start without AC..

@Tadunce - is that the only other sensor you've tried, one from the scrap yard?

And more..
Mates have said that 2.1td fans goes to the second level of working in about 100oC.. 97oC i think. Am i right?

ordered the sensor today from dealers.

£24 +vat so bout 30 quids.

is it easy changing this ?

Yes, its very simple.
Take a wrench in your hand, take off a brown wire and spin sensor counterclockwise. Take a new one ant spin it clockwise. Put on brown wire and you are done here :)

And you should disconnect battery, because if you take off brown wire, fans will start immediately

changed my sensor today.

no1 mentioned the coolant squirting 10 foot high did they :lol: :lol: :lol:

me and my 7 year old got soaked wet through in anti freez when i took old sensor out.

taudance. it is the one on the right isnt it ? i had a blue one on the left and browny red one on the right ?

hope ive changed right one :oops:

well it apears on service box that the blue sensor should be on the right and maroon (brown) sensor on the left.

but mine is oposite. doesnt really matter i supose . both in same place (coolant)

does any1 know what the blue one is for ?

my fault was definately the brown one. i only touched it with my finger and the fans kicked in. :? :? :?

anyway ive just rang dealers and ordered the blue sensor as well. may as well do both temperature sensors :mrgreen:

Brown is on the right.
And there was no problem to change it to me, who could even think about you became wet :shock:

Can it be, that blue one send information of temperature to your dashboard?
Or is it for different reasons?
