had new cat fitted but is noisy
the guy said it will be raspy until its coked up a bit, ive prob done 200 miles now, does it just need longer to bed in? also should i be worried that i needed a new cat? did something cause it to break? i have a dump valve now, and when i come off the throttle the revs go up and then back down a little, im guessing cos the maf is confused because the air is dumping?

Re: had new cat fitted but is noisy
Have you got the original recirc valve to try? your new cat may be flowing more freely that the old one, so maybe you can hear the turbo more than you could before? or it may be a lower quality cat and the exhaust flow through it is causing the noise?
I had a bailey valve on mine but put a recirculaing valve back on as it didnt run right. plus the mrs moaned about it sounding like a sports car and looking like an old mans car
