406 hdi 90hp flatspots

Post by jemthetaxi »

Hi all, my 406 hdi seems to have a bit of a flatspot between 1000 and 2000 rpm.all seems fine if you put your foot down, but a bit of a pain in traffic.Any ideas anyone, air flow meter maybe? Any advice greatly appreciated.

My 110 is totally flat on it's arse until 1800 rpm, 1000 to 1700 rpms you can forget pulling power.

It is a compromise you see, trying to match the Turbo, the gearing, fueling with the Diesel motor's oh-so short power band.

maybe i should have said "stutter" instead of flatspot to explain the problem, similar to a petrol engine "missing". not like turbolag.Sorry all.

What do you mean stutter...? Like it's going to stall...?
