I took my car into the main stealers because of a knocking noise that happened over every bump in the road... they were unable to identify the cause of this...

Not the drop links... bushes... rollbar mounts.. etc... so where does that leave me now? well 5 years of having this noise appear every so often.. I can't even locate it! One day i'll just replace the entire rear crossmember and see if that cures the problem... i'll use some good old poly bushes and mounts for the rollbar etc..

Its nice when you do things to your motor and its drives and sounds all good again... I know mine did until the exhaust started blowing yesterday !

I hate knocking noises.

Unfortunately it goes with the territory with 8 - 10 year old cars, ultimately you should replace every single rubber bush with a new one, it is surprising over time how much your handling can be affected by poor or worn bushings, giving 'movement' in joints that should be nice and tight.

I too have a knock at the back but only just, sounds like the early onset of something wearing out I suppose i should start with the drop links as these are cheap enough?

Drop Links are soooo cheap its amazing!

But just you go to your local garage and get them fitted... that'll add £50+ to the bill !
