limp home will not go away
hi everyone i have a problem with limp home mode . the car goes into limp home when i accelerate to arround 60 mph at 1500 rpm its a total killer but i dont do a lot of motorway mils so i just live with it it disapears when the car has been parked up for 24 hours and it will run without the management light comming on for weeks if im just running around the town .ive had a new FAP filter fitted and its never cleared from then. (might i add FAP done by dealer picked it up with problem but the are looking for a blank cheque to investigate ) . Ive had it plugged into diagnostic but its not recording and fault and ive not managed to get it to an open garage when the light is on . Any pointers thanks N.

Re: limp home will not go away
Hi there, sorry to hear about your problem - I know how infuriating it can be, mine was in limp mode continuously for a good few months.
In my case, it had several diesel additive tank / pump issues which I finally found the answer to as described here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=12487
There's a far more lengthy tale of woe (& eventual triumph) here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10429&hilit=aunty+pollution%27s
It is entirely possible your fault has nothing to do with the particle filter and associated additive system, but that's the conclusion most garages seem to jump to when they, (rarely), see a 2.2 HDi.
It does seem very unusual for the diagnostic system not to find an answer - mine faithfully tracks even the most fleeting of intermittent faults and will report them as such possibly years later, unless someone just clears them. Do you know if the diagnosis was carried out with a Peugeot Planet 2000 system? Some other stuff will talk to them, but generally only return 'generic' fault code numbers and a lot less detail than you get with PP2000.
Whereabouts are you - someone nearby may be able to help....
(It generally helps to add your locaton details and the year etc. of your car - makes it easier for others to help effectively).

2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Re: limp home will not go away
hi bolldy thing started again ok got it back home tried to start it again no go lol
so had to bit the built and get it to PUG dealer . (towed in £50 + vat ) 5 miles.
anyway plugged in it would seam to be the comms 2000 part 6242c2 well amoung the codes. £154 +vat and thats just to get it started lol .
Not one to be beat by the dealer having one delivered direct from NEAT for 125.82 all in (next day)
and they have the cheek to say they are supprised lol must be 10 sellers with a stack of them genuine part ? .
One last rant im so angry about the advest with the cars doing around the clock but every time i have it in the dealer they tell me ooh its done a really high milage 170K . I bought the car ex lease hire at 60k full history fully loaded , 6 years ago and its not been cheap to keep but its a good workhorse and a looker in green lol so ive done 100k in 6 years mostly the motorway for about 70 k of that. I think its had an easy life
i will update on the drama as it unfolds not to late tho as ive got to get a bus to work to make money for the dealer .lol
