406LX 2.0 99 'V' Engine running Lumpy

Post by pugface406lx »

Hi All,

My 99V plate 406 Lx 2.0 has a running issue that I cannot fathom........at 3K Rpm on a run the engine is jumpy and jerky, it feels like its hitting a headwind and then its ok again and then again it holds back and is lumpy again whilst at this RPM....HELP???

Also, the engine management light appears to come on and stay on for ages sometimes on a run, then at other times its ok again.....the car seems fine tho when the light comes on

Help please guys?

regards

my car did this when i first got it, it got really bad and drove me mad, the thing didnt log a single fault even though the K light was on, so i went to town and replaced every bloody sensor, it turned out to be a map sensor, i would try disconnecting the map sensor and drive the car, it will be very jerky to drive but if the problem has gone it will be the map sensor
