Immobiliser Removal on a 2.1TD Lucas Pump
I've been reading about removing the immobiliser at the fuel pump and adding a 12V ignition live to the stop solenoid, but I haven't been able to confirm whether this will work on the 2.1 Lucas pump. My next question is, if this is possible, where is this plate that needs removed? Does anyone have any links/tips/pics of the procedure as I don't really want to knacker a perfectly good pump!

you have to remove the steel cover at the back.good luck as it wont be easy.
thought you had a man coming to fix it with the proper kit?

Re: Immobiliser Removal on a 2.1TD Lucas Pump
Apparently PP2000 isn't capable of removing the immobiliser. I've got another ECU here which I may drop off with my mate to have a play around with to see if he can remove the immobiliser on there, but as I read you can bypass it by doing the pump, it's cheaper/free and I can do it tomorrow whereas god knows how long and how much it would be to reprogram the ECU.
Whereabouts on the back of the pump? Which side of the pump is classed as the back? I'm guessing this steel plate is hidden under all the plastic covers on the pump?

Re: Immobiliser Removal on a 2.1TD Lucas Pump
Cant say for sure but done a few lucas ford pumps. These had a 5 mm thick fabricated box that fitted over the back of the pump, This covers the coded stop solenoid and that wont open untill it receives a signal from the imobiliser ecu. They were fitted with shear bolts 6mm i think. I used a automatic centre pop on the edge of the heads and managed to remove them with the pump in situ. Gave them all a bit of good penetrating oil first and then a tap with a paralell punch and hammer first. This is a ballache as the bolt only moves a tiny amount for ages, but like i said worked for me
i suspect that you will have to fit a normal 12v lucas stop solenoid that will need to be fed from ignition posistion 1. these are about £5 ON EBAY. Yours wont work as its coded you could try cutting the wiring and try powering it up but if it was that easy they would have hid the wiring as well.
like i said i have never tackled a 406 one but the stop solenoid has to be covered with something similar.
Hope this helps
