well guys seems all fixed, it was indeed a split diaphram
ook i over seasled it again wih a pucture repair kit and put back on till i can source a replacement.

one thing ive done as well hough is add in 2 ttins of ametech engine restore.
now im not going to say ahytthing other han ive used it before and have noticed improvemens in mpg both in my pug and in the alhambra, however the main benefit this time as with everything i have done recently i cant tell what has improved the mpg really, but my intercooler is now not leaking oil.
that could be down to the restore as it says it can help turbos by recovering the seal, or it could simply be that it has thickened the oil i use sufficienly to make the leak less. however it has done something.
at £12 a can its not cheap but in this instance it has defiently done something.

ok guys lights back on, however the swirl valve is opening fine at the front of the engine, one thing that different this time is that the car isnt going into limp home mode, its just showing the anti pollution fault.
My bet is on the diaphram possibly not being split anywhere near as bad as it was but still leaking air slightly ? does this sound a reasonable explanation ir should I start looking at other areas ?

Other folks have blamed a faulty swirl actuator for the EML coming on, but I can't for the life of me see how the ecu could possibly detect it. The vacuum leak from a split diaphragm is something else, you can see how that could easily affect vacuum controlled stuff.
Be good to know if it's still reporting boost control problems.
Maybe you've got more than one vacuum issue, or your leaky diaphragm's back, just not as bad?

thats what Im thinkins regarding the diaphram we only fixed it with a bike patch but all aroun the bottom of the diaphram looked badly warn, possibly fixed one leak and a smaller one has appeared. I think buying a new one is the way forward and replacing it completely.
Just have to find a peugeot dealer round here now and see how much they cost.

well used servicebox to get eh part numebr and called a local dealer.
21.07 plus VAT so not too bad, picking it up thurs / friday on holiday for a couple of weeks after so will be awhile till I get round to fitting it, but hopefully that will alleviate the problems !

The mechanic has showed me a hole In the cat forward pipe flexi bit, he reckons that is causing the turbo pressure fault. And replacing the lamb sensor on cat wouof clear p1421. I like you will check all vacuum pipes etc but was really interested on how you got on as my car has similar mileage 145k.

Hi & welcome to the site.
Having the same power unit as you, I can state with a fair degree of confidence it has nothing to do with the temperature sensors in your cat / FAP assembly, (assuming you had the FAP software deleted correctly). as these are no longer used after 'de-FAPping'. The leak in your flexi pipe wont cause the turbo overpressure fault either.
I recommend you study exboyracer's excellent HDI fault finding guide on the coupe forum - this is based on his extensive research into the overboost problem, (which in his case was down to several minor vacuum system problems which collectiverly prevented the ecu from controlling the variable geometry turbo as intended).

I am planning on getting a pp2000 to hook up to my pug to check everything, as I suspect I am going to get very familiar with this car. I have also checked out the post from exboyracer, now I don't have all the kit that he does, but I will see what I can do myself. It only seems to go into limp when driving under load, say on the m'ways for a period of time. restarting the car seems to cure it until the next time. would you be willing to share the fapped file so I can see if I was robbed or take a look at mine

Probably be good to start a new thread, but FWIW I think all 2.2 HDi cat / flexy pipes are the same so should be OK. The 'rules' say suppliers are now only allowed to sell 'type approved' cats for post 2001vehicles. ('type approved' = same gubbins, bigger price tag).also does anybody know if this part will fit a 02 plate 2.2 hdi coupe http://www.autobits.co.uk/store/view_pr ... oduct=3878 or should I start a new thread.

Oh & finally, if you get a cost-effective replacement, let me know, cos mine's leaking too.

Checks out autobits google search will find them. Paid under a ton for it. Very helpful. Saved a packet and I got £30 from the scrap man for the old one.

Reassuring to know I have now got the correct de-fap file installed. many thanks for your help... The running of the car seems a lot better although it is still dropping into limp mode. on long bursts of boost. Just a thought but could this suspect intake electro value have messed up the fuel mixture and prematurely caused my cat to fail? could this explain the pre-cat temp warning? I have for now swapped the Intake and EGR EV's around and blocked off the EGR vacuum feed to see if this improves things. off to the scappy's tomorrow to pick up a replacement EV just to tick that one off the list.
