:cry: well the car is now suffering another problem fuelling related now.

As i turned into a junction the car started wheel spinning and there was a clunk from somewhere since then the car is idleing very erratically and seems to be suffering fuel starvation/overfuelling at anything much more than2000rpm or speeds over 20 ish MPH I am suspecting fuel starvation as it idles ok apart from some hunting and occasionaly stalling (the stalling is a new problem since the wheelspin).

On a side not how bloody easy do they spin with some damp when the turbo comes in!!!.

ho hum need to larfn how to drive a turbocharged car lol.

SRI turbo btw.

Think it may be a boost problem now best way to check boost pipes for leaks.........

Your problem doesn't sound like a turbo issue, certainly not while idle. I'm no mechanical expert but perhaps it might be breathing difficulties? I know my idling's gone erratic and cold engine performance is non-existant (Frequent near-stalls pulling out from where I'm parked of a morning) since I noticed my exhaust's leaky.

Also I've always found it very difficult to judge rapid starts in the wet on my turbo too. I think it's down to the more subtle nature of it in our cars. I mean in the Golf TDI I spent some time driving a year or 2 back I had no trouble judging it because you absolutely knew what state the turbo was in at all times, you knew when it was on the boost because it became a very different car to drive (and god did it sound different!). Same with the 407 HDi I took for a test drive and a couple of others. It's much harder to tell with the 406 turbo, but don't get me wrong - I still love it to bits :)

Just to add the idle is spot on now no probs at al the big problem is when using heavy acceleration it is like it has run out of fuel or is putting to much in.

If i use a lightish throttle i will rev all the way to redline but does not pull as hard as it should when turbo comes in, although it does deffo come in as you hear the dump valve when you come back off the throttle.

Glad it is not just me who has probs driving it, my last car was a big ish V6 which are real nice to drive the pug needs a bit more effort.
