2.2 hdi D9 coupe defap, remap -?,s new CAT, forward oxygen sensor.
My pp2000 arrived saturday.
I was hoping to be able to discover what is causing my lumpy idle which has developed since my fap removal but it's not reading my ECU. Any thoughts. It will connect but I was unsure where to find the build no#. The only thing that looks close was 9220UH.
As I could not get it working properly I took the advise from other forum members and removed, cleaned EGR, what a nightmare that was. I've also swapped over the turbo sv with the EGR sv. The lumpyness only shows itself 3-4 minutes into a drive.
Interestingly my anti pollution EML and limp mode symptoms have gone since I've replaced CAT and forward oxygen sensor. So I guess dogslife correct when he said my remap was suspect.

I really should remember, as I've had mine hooked up to at least 6 coupes.
I think it's on a sticker on the drivers doorpost, like saloons / estates, (maybe somebody can correct, if necessary)? If that 9220UH you mention had a leading zero, than that's it - you use the 2nd - 5th digits, i.e. 9220
If it still doesn't work, try any post-9001 build code, (e.g. mine's 9471).

2nd. pic: The majority are intermittent faults and indicative of someone disconnecting lots of bits, (perhaps to try to localise a fault).
That someone would be me. I suspected that maybe an injector was at fault. i've noticed that i can remove power from injector 4 (closest to oil filler cap) and the engine runs as normal (BAD). un-plug no# 3 and the engine stalls. reading up i found this post viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14490&hilit=injecto ... 1&start=45
OdinEidolon mentioned something similar
... he disconnected the fourth (believed to be faulty) injector electric plug! He's a fool I was thinking, but then surprisingly the engine kept going. What? He plugged it back and disconnected the third. Engine died.
So the car's using only three cylinders when it wobbles. No wonder the engine is noisy and the drive is slow when that happens!
No# 4 on mine also looks in this condition. Mine is rough all the time upto 1.4k revs once warm. can anyone confirm how to get these reconditioned.
pls note i am no machanic, just a fool with a spanner and a love for my poorley car.
You should try the leak-off test - the kit I knocked up cost about £3 for 5 m. of 3 mm bore windsreen washer hose from the local car accessory shop, the rest I had lying around. That could confirm your suspiscions cheaply.
Someone on the coupe forum recently had their injectors reconditioned at reasonable cost, (think it was 'Mr H').

I will try the leak-off test this weekend. I took it for a spin and plugged pp2000 back in and no injector codes. If it's not the injector, egr or egr sv's what else could it be. N.b. It just all of a sudden started to happen, no deterioration....

I don't think you can conclude it's not an injector - you have proven that you have a circuit through all the injector solenoid valves, not that they functon correctly. (I'm not saying that's your problem, but it shouldn't be discounted at this stage).

Well I conducted my leak-off test, I'm not sure what I was expecting but all four had very similar quantities of desiel with maybe slightly more in bottle 1. What does this suggest?
I'm starting to think loss of compression but this is not all the time? Was it doing the misfire thing when you were doing the leak off test? (Possibly a daft question but I have to ask).
This has only happened since you remapped it, what does it do with the old map on?
Yeah I took it for a drive first to get it warm, then conducted the leak off test. I will try it again tomorrow whilst cold to compare.
This is it, the problem only started 1 week after the remap. Not noticed anything prior. I've not got the software for replacing the original map file, although dogslife has pointed me in the right direction. Should I try this! Worried as I work with computers and flashed BIOS's many times, with a few going to BIOS graveyard in the sky.

It usually means they're OK, (but you might need to be a bit more specific about 'slightly more in bottle 1' - the rule of thumb is that there shouldn't be more thatn 10% variation across the set).
Steve's comments are pertinent - if you have an intermittent problem, you probably need to do the test when it's misbehaving. Is / was this the case?
I don't think you can have an injector wiring problem without knowing about it - (you get the errors you've seen via PP2000, plus the EML & an ANTI POLLUTION FAULT on the MFD as soon as you disconnect one).
If you want to eliminate the remap file, either get yourself a flash programming lead & give it a try, or bring it over & I'll do it with you. (Can't be more than about an hour's drive).
