To alter the timing you need to release the 4 nuts holding the pump to the bracket and move it back or forth.

so basically if i loosen the pump brackets and twist the pump one way or the other and try that it should work?

You are 100% right, my apologies, I was thinking of the Lucas pump setup on my old Mondeo would you believe it
