u mean move the pump would it even move

no lol u mean undo the pump couldn't i just take the beltoff and move the pully

Moving the belt one tooth would put it to either full advance or full retard, both of which would cause it to not run/run like a bag of snot.

Moving the pump allows very fine adjustment.

so basically if i loosen the pump brackets and twist the pump one way or the other and try that it should work?

You are 100% right, my apologies, I was thinking of the Lucas pump setup on my old Mondeo would you believe it :roll:
