When i first bought my Rapier it only has about an inch of accelerator pedal travel and the throttle was only opening 1/2 of the way,the previous owners had been driving it like that for 4 years! When i took the slack out it was like a diferent car.The exec had a little bit of slack in the cable but not enough to make any difference.I'm making the poor old car out to be a slouch but it does "go" but nowhere near as good as the old Rapier which is what baffles me.The old chap next door who has it says i can swap stuff about between the cars if i want to but don't want to just on the offchance i mess his up.I am begining to wonder if it's had a remap or something cos before i bought the Exec i looked at a 2.2 hdi SE and on the test drive that didn't go aswell as the old Rapier either.

Perhaps your new 406 hasnt run in yet,
what imean by that is, judging by its Mint condition its most probs been driven like arolls by last owner,
