DW8 to XUD9TE

Post by madinfo »

Hi,

This is my 1st post, i don't actually own a 406 but a 206 :) but i saw lots of other cars on the forum and find out that this is a great forum for other peugeots including my 206 :).
Recenly i got a 406 engine XUD9TE to fit on my 206 DW8 Engine.
The engine is nice it was run-ed only 150000km even then i will going to do a major revision to it before fitting.

One of my questions is: Is there a dual mass flywheel that fits this engine ? (going to use my DW8 gear box)

That´s all for now.
Tanks :)

The XUD is a simple engine.
No VNT, no Dual Mass etc etc

The XUD is a straight swap although there might be a few wiring issues you will have to sort out. Main one is I think the DW8 is semi ECU controlled so you will have to ditch that and just send a switched live to the fuel pump.

Also you will have to get a custom downpipe made from the turbo.

Look for a D8A engine with a bosch pump and a Garret T2 turbo.

Thats what I had on my 406 and at 22psi it went like a bloody train

I really wish they made a DW8 D9 406, as it would be bang on perfect

Having not long had a D8 1.9 xud 7 seat estate, I have to agree, what a wonderfully simple bit of old fashioned diesel engineering it is. Quicker than I expected to. The simplicity of it is a joy.

KKK = Ku Klux Klan, the racist people in America who are best-known for their love of lynching and/or setting fire to those who are of African descent.

I have no idea what the turbocharger company KKK's name stands for, and I'm 100% certain they've got nothing to do with the other KKK.
