Injectors, is this normal

Post by pigboy306 »

Plugged in my 406 to PP200 to see what errors may be on the engine. There were two intermittent faults about fuel pump, pressure low. I have cleared those and will see if they return this week so no worries there.

I had a look at the parameters as well, (Wish i screen shotted it) anyway there was a setting of 11 for the injectors but 1and 3 were reading about 1.something and 2 and 4 reading minus somthing. The vehicle was on idle is this normal?

It's probably normal. There are values for the injection volume and % flow corrections, which should be small numbers, either +ve or -ve.

The ecu calculates the required nominal injection volume per cylinder, then applies a correction factor to equalise the behaviour of the different injectors. The correction is arrived at by determining from the crank & camshaft sensors how much the engine accelerates in response to each injection cycle. By tweaking these numbers, the ecu adapts to give you smooth idling etc.

Post the actuals if you can
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
