Quick question...
Should the car "prime" every time try to start? I mean, should you be able to hear fuel being pumped into the fuelrail or something?
And what exactly is it that determines when the car is supposed to be letting fuel into the engine?
I started the car and pulled the TDC to check if it still worked.. The car stopped instantly, meaning that the TDC should be fine right?
Yet, the car still only turns over and won't start unless I try many times...
Or just keep the starter going for 10+ seconds at times.. It will then start (sometimes)..
I've tried swapping the ECU for another one that is unlocked. I've tried swapping the fuel-pump and fuelfilter, the plugs are new, the compression is (13-14-14-15), the battery is new.
Give me a clue as to what more I can check?

Hmm...
Is it normal for the TDC to practically WELD itself to the bellhousing?
I tried taking it off last night and it just won't budge at all.. broke the "ear" off it (where the screwhole is) aswell.. thing is still stuck in place.
Any tips on getting this thing off?
I don't want to break it off leaving half of it inside or anything. Figuring having to take the gearbox down would be somewhat inconvenient for me right now...
Should I just take it to a garage and let them deal with it?

Hahaha... I COULD END UP with a none runner? It already IS a non runner... as it's standing more still than moving these days...
I took it to my closest NON peugeot-garage, which said they'd have a new sensor fitted in 1 hour.
I have NO idea if that even fixes the problem.. but I'm also figuring that the sensor shouldn't be freaking molded to the car to begin with..
If I actually got my 406 running, I'd be a happy happy guy... I've struggled with this car for 6 months now... and it IS getting old

Had another go at the car today..
took appart all the connectors again, swapped the temp sensors, TDC, cleaned out the stepper motor everything else I could pry appart...
And... The car starts perfectly on first try!! what a relief!
