Hi
I am currently e-mailing a guy in France who advertised for sale a 1253E4 cooling fan.
His written English is far better than my French.
I think that his last e-mail said that there were 2 references on the fan, both 1253E4 and 1253E6, the 1st being 350w and 2nd 450w. I understand that this is a 2 speed fan
Is it possible that one fan can have 2 references and the ECU determines which speed it operates at ?? Presumably the different current demand determines the speed ?
Any thoughts welcome ?

Re: Electric Cooling Fan
Hello,
I also have the similar question to the one that poster has asked:
Service box shows it as part number 1253E4, but can't find a cheap version of this anywhere. Any ideas ?
I have a 406 2.0HDi 110 with RHZ engine
Dis anyone try a replacements for this FAN model? I've been told that some C5 citroens had the same fan.
Also i would by a used one if it's working.
Please advise.

Re: Electric Cooling Fan
I originally bought one for £50 from a 406 that was being broken. Never again. Can you imagine the state of electrics on a 10 year old fan that sits at the front of the car being subjected to everything the weather can throw at it. The rubber seals were perished and looked worse than my original that was seized.
I eventually found a brand new one in original peugeot box on the internet in the south of France and got it for 140 euro's delivered. It is now fitted and working fine
