I have 1138 code and and anti pollution malfunction, read fault codes which displayed fuel pressure reg output high, changed rail and switch, fuel filter, checked low pressure gauze filter for excessive debris--ok, reason for this is I have recently put about 50 ltrs of diesel from a questionable origin( I usually use shell) My original problem was cutting out and going into limp home mode(now and again) since carrying out repair this problem has severley amplified to the point of being undriveable. Once it cuts out you put the ignition on low pump primes and engine starts every time, then the whole thing starts again Any pointers......please

have you cleaned the fuel presser regulator on the hp and also inspect the o-rings for cracks

I have tried another one on the pump, exactly the same problem. Diesel specialists suggested I bought a used ECU, had it virginised, fitted it and if the problem disappeared all would be well in the world, if it did not cure it chances are it would be a wiring fault. Unfortunately I am probably not allowed to repeat the remainder of the conversation.
