Peugeot 406 to Mod

Post by garethv »

Hi Guys,

Im currently situated in south africa and i recently bought a peugeot 406 SW 2.0 16V dohc.
my reason for posting is that i am a speed freak and as much as this is the family vehicle, id like some more power. the guys in s.a dont know much about peugeot hence me joining this forum. can anyone help me with some simple mods to increase power? nothing too drastic as it is a family vehicle as above mentioned. i was looking into a dastek unichip q. not sure if url have heard of it?my peugeot mack is telling me not to upgrade the exhaust and leave it std because he says there will be a good possiblity of power loss? is this true and can anyone supply me with specs on a performance exhaust? anyway hope to see some responses. im open to any suggestions? also it needs to be lowered but the only way to do that is to import springs which is a bit of a hassle, can anyone tell me what springs(even if from another vehicle) would work on a 406 SW??

Regards
G

Welcome to the forum Gareth.
It would be far easier if you bought a turbo engine :D

chip tuning is a good idea but you wont feel much of a difference even with chip.
Yes,you could loose power if you fit larger exhaust.
Lower it down, you will be able to drive faster in corners.

Well,do some classic things to improve power like : sport air filter, chip, reducing weight.
Its a fast car you have but i dont think you will be able to get more power without paying larger sum of money.
I could be wrong tho.
