My 2001 2.0HDi saloon came to me three weeks ago with 118,900 miles on the clock, 64,000 of them having been covered in the first five years. (I have all the MoT certificates except 2010/11 and so can trace its progress over the years.) It has changed hands only three times: April 2002 (sold for £10,999 by a Manchester car-hire company, with 19,200 miles up), February 2008 (the owner up to that time had liked the car enough to take it with him on moving from London to Cornwall in 2007) and May 2013. It seems problem-free except for the false-positive 'antipollution fault' indication which I have mentioned in another thread. (Also, if one must be precise, the multi-function display has no illumination; I hope this unit has replaceable bulbs, unlike the main instrument panel!)

I feel I was fairly lucky to pick this up on eBay for £450, with nine months' tax, almost a full year's MoT and a serviceable set of tyres. I fear the vendor may have done himself an injustice by giving the date of the car in the listing title as 1991!

Can't compete with that but back in Feb 2010 I caught this moment on camera.

As you can see, the handbrake's on as a lay-by conveniently appeared just as it was about to roll over!
The car was bought in Mar 2007 with 59k on the clock and now has 138k.
Cambelt changed at 78k by me and coming up for it's second......

Yes , I suppose it is compared to the colossal mileages some engines rack up!
As long as it keeps pulling like it does, it can stay in nappies forever.....
